Dursey Island

Dursey Island is one of the most beautiful and peaceful islands, which can only be accessed via a cable car, situated at the western tip of Beara Peninsula in the west of County Cork, just 2 hours 35 minutes from Great National Commons Inn Hotel.
The island is surrounded by a wide range of seabirds, butterflies, dolphins and whales. There are no shops, pubs or restaurants at Dursey Island. Therefore, visitors are highly advised to bring their own food and water.

Cable Car Times: 3rd October 2016 to June 2017 (Mondays to Saturdays) 9:30am - 10:30am, 2:30pm – 4:30pm, 7:00pm – 8:00pm | Sundays 9:30am – 10:30am, 1:00pm – 2:00pm, 7:00pm – 8:00pm.

Mizen Head

Mizen Head is one of the signature key discovery points on the Wild Atlantic Way, located in Goleen, just 2 hours 15 minutes from Great National Commons Inn Hotel. Walk along the iconic bridge, while admiring the spectacular views of the coast, Sheep’s Head and Beara Peninsulas. Check out the magnificent ocean for whales and dolphins while birdwatching at the same time.

Old Head of Kinsale

Come along to visit the first signature discovery point on this stunning coastal journey at Old Head of Kinsale, just 1 hour 5 minutes from Great National Commons Inn Hotel. Experience the gorgeous views from the top of the Signal Tower and visit the historic Lusitania Museum with your special someone, family, friends or as an individual.
